Trial 1 Acupuncture and IVF 

Acpuncture IVF Support clinic is  looking for women who are interested in participating in a trial testing the effect of acupuncture applied both during an IVF cycle and at the time of embryo transfer. This trial is run in conjunction with the University of Western Sydney and is funded by the government body the NHMRC. To be eligible you must be a current patient of IVF Australia and have already had 2 (or more) embryos transfered without success and be between 18 and 43

Trial 2 Chinese medicine and IVF

Together with some Genea doctors we are recruiting women who have had 2 IVF cycles without achieving a viable pregnancy and plan to do a third. We are asking women to use Chinese medicine for 2-3 months prior to commencing their third cycle. This means taking Chinese herbs daily and having acupuncture weekly. To be eligible patients must be between 33 and 38 years and be attending Genea. This trial is funded by Complemed at UWS.

Trial 3 Acupuncture and IVF

Acupuncture, immune factors and implantation

If you are an IVF A patient who has had 3 or more embryos transferred but have still not had a baby, then you are eligible to participate in this trial which will examine the effect of acupuncture administered at certain times during your next IVF cycle. In addition to having the acupuncture you will have 2 extra blood tests to test a number of immune markers which may have an effect on implantation. Acupuncture will be performed at the Acupuncture IVF Support clinic in Maroubra.This trial is funded by NICM,the National institute for Complementary Medicine.

Trial 4

Acupuncture, lifestyle and fertility


The Centre for Complementary Medicine Research at the University of Western Sydney is conducting a trial to evaluate how acupuncture and changes in lifestyle can enhance fertility by regulating periods and increasing fertility awareness. Eligible women will be given acupuncture at The Acupuncture IVF support clinic in the city or Maroubra or at the University. 
Women between the ages of 18-44 who have a diagnosis of infertility or who have unsuccessfully been trying to conceive for over 12 months are encouraged to take part in our trial.
